Another avenue The Kitchen Inc. pursued was the Blind Vendors Association.  The Association is governed by the United States Army, and requires suppliers to implement a HACCP program, strict sanitation procedures, and a security system that will not allow any food to be compromised.  The Kitchen went through rigorous testing by the United States Armed Forces Department of Defense to be listed on its approved vendor’s list.  This listing has only spurred us to once again excel beyond requirements and install an on-site generator for all power outage situations (think back to the Black Out of 2003 to realize how crucial a generator can prove to be.)

The Kitchen inc. currently makes thousands of sandwiches on a daily basis for over 100 different customers.  Our crew is lead by two general Kitchen Managers and one Sanitation Manager all of whom have ServSafe Certifications.  All three managers remain on the floor monitoring every step in the flow of goods from the receiving of raw materials, through the loading of the finished product onto our refrigerated trucks. Each sandwich is made by an individual employee rather then an assembly line process to ensure the product is made with pride.

While a personal touch is important to the look of the sandwiches The Kitchen inc. produces, it certainly not devoid of technology.  Two automatic wrappers heat-seal each sandwich to maintain the quality and freshness of the product.  In addition, a customized computer program manages the entire operation.  The advanced program utilizes a combination of in stock inventory numbers versus projected quantity needed based on customers requests to order in supplies.  This ensures there is just enough stock on hand each week.  The unique program also allows for complete automation in printing sandwich labels with detailed ingredients.

As a progressive fresh food supplier The Kitchen Inc. has managed to remain on the cutting edge of the catering arena while maintaining a unique identity with products that are fresh and inviting.
